HOW DO I ENTER AND EXIT THE
TESLA?
Eject the door handle by pushing on the tallest part with your thumb to enter. Grab the ejected handle and pull it open.
Press the button on top of the armrest handle to exit the car. After exiting, push the doors firmly to close.
HOW DO I TURN ON THE TESLA?
There are two ways to turn on the Tesla:
1. With the key fob
- Place your key fob anywhere in the vehicle to turn on the car. When fully seated with your seatbelt on, press the brake and move the car into gear to switch it on.
2. With the key card
- To switch on using your key card, place the key card on the console – found behind the cup holders. Once you’re fully seated with your seatbelt fastened, step on the brake and shift the car into gear to turn on. The key card can be moved when the vehicle is on.
HOW DO I PUT THE CAR INTO GEAR?
The gear selector stalk is located behind the right-hand side of the steering wheel. Push the stalk up for reverse and down for the drive. To park, press the button on the end of the gear stick. The touchscreen will reflect your gear selection.
HOW DOES REGENERATIVE BRAKING WORK IN TESLA?
The Tesla uses regenerative (regen) braking, a braking mode that increases battery charge and available drive time by automatically applying the brakes when you take your foot off the accelerator. Rather than rolling to a stop, the car will rapidly slow down. While this will feel different from traditional braking methods, most people adjust after a few kilometres.
HOW DO I TURN OFF THE CAR?
The car turns off automatically when you exit the vehicle: please remove the key fob or key card and close all doors. If you do not remove the key fob or the key card, the car will remain accessible and drivable. The touchscreen can also power down the vehicle.
HOW DO I LOCK/UNLOCK THE TESLA?
There are 2 ways to lock/unlock your rental Tesla:
1. With the key fob
- Press the key fob once and the car will beep once, your car will be LOCKED.
- Press the key fob twice and the car will beep two times, your car will be UNLOCKED.
2. With the key card
- Place the key card near the circle that is on the outside of the driver’s side window, while you’re standing outside the car to lock and unlock the car.
- Once inside the vehicle, select the lock image on the touchscreen or wait for the doors to automatically lock within 15 seconds of driving. Doors unlock automatically when you shift into park.
